Over the festival weekend

Safe to say, surviving the Download festival weekend was pretty hard, but we made up for it in other ways :) We had a party in our flat for Leah which was great, loads of people turned up and we had a good laugh hehe Best memory of the night - Leah projectile puking into the sink lmao Now when I think back its pretty gross, but at the time I was choking on my drink with laughter haha :')

Then the next day we went to see Four Year Strong which was good. I'm not really into that type of music but it was for Leahs birthday and we had a good time, and actually the band were pretty good :)

Scar Symmetry!!!!!!!!!

Just amazing, simply amazing. We got there a bit early to find the place and go to Afflecks Palace, and as we were waiting around we go to MEET THEM. As usual, I got really star struck though and didn't know what to say :(

The support acts were pretty cool, Xerath obviously! Really cool, and Scar Symmetry just awesommmme. Moho Live (the venue) was pretty good too, quite small and it felt like we could connect and interact with the band. Defo going to have to see some more bands there - Combichrist are playing at the end of june - Yes pleasssse.

After the gig, got to speak to the members again, got my pic with Per :) I'll upload that another time. Didn't realise how gorgeous Lars is, my god. LMAO Really gutted I only shook his hand now and had nothing to say. Girls don't shake hands, girls hug - what was I thinking?! lol

When we got back into Liverpool, Rachy rang me and told me her Jennie and Richard had been to a Karaoke bar with the band and had drinks and kisses from them.. Devastated!! LOL Next time I'm going to stay behind I don't care if its a band I really like then its worth the extra money lol.

Also when I was in Afflcks Palace I bought a Mario wallet ohh yeahhhhh

Download Festival vs Sonisphere Festival!

Ok, so usually there would be no competition whatsoever, but this year Download have done something incredible - they've got an alright line up - pretty much for the first time since 2005 tbh haha.

Sonisphere is sooooooooo much better in terms of everything, the organisation is 100000% better, the stewards know what they're talking about, its much more relaxed, the atmosphere is better, theres alot less people in comparison to Download because Download pulls the mainstream card most years, aaaaand the distance between stages and campsite aaaand stage times (no clashes) its just puuuuurfect.

Download on the other hand, that walk, yes THAT STUPID FUCKING WALK, ruins everything. Oh and they say the bands won't clash, but they do, and they don't group similar bands together, which means alot of running around through masses of crowds, and the reason they do this? Well its obvious, if all the bands were grouped together people would buy day tickets, and Livenation are money grabbers rememeber :) They'll do anything for more money - even going as far as getting My Chemical Romance to headline just because they're current.

So as you can tell, I love Sonisphere so so much, and I'm actually pretty devastated that its Download with the good bands and not them, but I guess the bands are what its all about.

I'm a fucking machine!

Well... I've worked 2 nights in Asda so far. Its not too bad, but my whole body is aching! lol It actually hurts to walk cause my legs are so sore :(

Being the 'health & beauty' colleague is a pain in the ass, sorting out all the little fiddly boxes kills my knees lol Although last night my manager put me on the hair dyes and said its the worst one to do but I need to know it and then the person I was working with agreed that its awful pretty much, ....but I loved it haha. Sorting out the boxes and looking at all the colours, its my kinda job :P

Anyway, now to address the title of this blog post.. I'm a fucking machine! :D..

My first night in Asda, 10pm-6am.. and I had a telephone interview at 9.30am on the Thursday morning lol
So basically this is how it went... my first night in Asda was Wednesday, and I'd been up all day cause I couldn't sleep, and did my first 10pm-6am shift.. needless to say I was absolutely dead. So I got home anyways at about 7am, got into bed cuddled up to Dean and fell asleep, alarm goes off at 9.25am 5 mins before my interview lol. So theres me, barely 2 hours sleep aching all over half dead, phone messing up (I had to do the interview in Deans back garden cause the signal was so bad!!) and I managed to pass my Shop Direct telephone interview :D Lunacy! So I have a proper interview on Tuesday lol

Anywho, I'm pretty lonely right now :( Deans got a gig in Exeter with Korn Again and is staying over and I'm all alone in my house.. the night before Easter :( We're actually going to miss Easter this year cause he won't be back until about 6pm :( We're having an Easter week instead though so its ok :)

Dean went for his interview today, but its looking unlikely he'll get it because he was struggling to convince them he was ok. Heres hoping though anyways :)

Oh and yeah, Deans left for Bournemouth now :( Bummer. First night alone in almost 3 months. I think this is gonna be hard :/

Blerhhh

So I've got a new layout up properly now with a side bar :) Looking snazzy w00pw00p haha I'm in the process of updating the links and stuff. I'm making a complete gig history which is fun, just going through each gig starting in 2003, with the help of Dean ofcourse since my memory is so bad lol

Oh and also, I've ordered some craft stuff as a treat since I had some ebay vouchers :) Got lots of Hama Beads, Ball chain for necklaces and shrink plastic although I thought it'd be A4 but the sheets are tiny lol oh well I'll have fun anyways :P

Oh and what else, ermmm.. I can't go to the Bournemouth gig which sucks :/ Was looking forward to the trip and seeing the Sound Circus as it looks like an awesome venue. Ahh well nevermind, I've been to loads of Korn Again gigs I knew I wouldn't be able to go eventually haha.

Just a bit worried about Dean to be honest :/ Hes back on his meds and last time he got a bit depressed especially when he got cramps n stuff, and usually i'd be the one to comfort him. Also hes been living in mine for ages now so we're not used to being apart. Its not usually a big deal but with it being overnight and him sleeping in the van aswell, I'm just concerned he might need to toilet or something will happen:/ Just have to wait and see I guess, I really hope it goes well for him though :) I also hope Dan actually makes it to the gig in time or the whole thing will go tits up :S lol

Anywhoooo.. ROLL ON MONDAY FOR A NIGHT OUT :) ...I'm going to play with my crafty stuff now :) Traaa laaaaa lol

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot to say! I've had a break through. Deans actually read my blog! LOL first time for everything eh :) He said he read all of 2011 so far and 2002 haha Yeah a little tip: Don't read 2002.. I was 12 so you can imagine the hilarity of it haha :P

Uni, Jobs, and other poo

Well, its official.. I've left Uni :/ Not something I want to do obviously, I'm actually quite upset about it but I think its best for me in the long run.

Basically, this year alot of shit has happened and I've been a bag of stress and worry, and my main priority has been making sure Dean is ok, but in the process of that I was so distracted from Uni that I got behind with the lectures and work. I thought I was going to be ok at first, until I assessed the situation and realised I had 4 courseworks (2 group ones) due in less than 3 months, followed by numerous exams, AND I had to find a work placement in that time as well.

So, I had to really think about what I wanted in life and I've came to the conclusion that, yeah I probably could have scraped through the coursework, and possibly got an extremely shit mark for the year. Whats that going to get me? The games industry is extremely hard to get in to, and although there are companies in Liverpool, its pretty clear that I'd need to move away to get a job. And then theres that question, who the fuck in the right mind would hire someone who hasnt got a clue about anything? Yeah I'd scrape by, doesn't mean I know it. I've missed the lectures I don't know what I'm doing. I know bare essentials of the programming languages, the placements require someone with a grasp on them, which isn't me right now.

Looking at the bigger picture here, I'd waste 4 years of my life costing approx 25k, to then get a job in a supermarket or a barmaid or something with a degree which means nothing. No thanks.

My situation now is, I don't have as much debt, and I've only wasted 2 years instead of 4. But to be honest, its not 2 years wasted because I've learnt alot about computers/gates etc and about myself. I'm glad I took the route I have, and anyways, I have the credits from the first year.. maybe in the future when the time is right, I could go back. Barry and Anita have both done it, aged 30+ so why can't I?

And looking at the even bigger picture, me and Dean NEED to move out in the next few months. We need a stable environment and we need money. Thats not something I can give in Uni, especially when its in the back of my mind that I could be working instead of scrounging off Deans Asda wages. Dean in Asda, and me in uni, we wouldn't get benefits and my student loans would be reduced because I'd be living away from parents, so its almost impossible.

I just wish people would see it from my perspective for a change, instead of seeing me as a failure. I feel like a failure enough without people reminding me every time they look at me. I wish I'd realised this a year ago I really do, but unfortunately a year ago I didn't, because a year ago me and Dean were fine. Dean was well and we wern't looking for a flat back then.

The way people need to look at this is, I didn't CHOOSE to lose my job with Littlewoods, I got made redundant. Everyone around me (Except Dean) kept telling me to go to Uni and I thought it'd be a good idea. It didn't work out, its not for everyone and right now its just not for me in my current situation. But as I said, maybe in the future.

So, now after clearing that up, what next? Well.. Littlewoods are looking for people again, I've rang and am waiting for a reply. Asda are also taking on, so maybe just maybe. Theres a few others, but non really worth mentioning. I'd be happy with Littlewoods or Asda. But haha I'm clearly living in a dreamworld if I think I'll get either of them jobs in this climate. Leahs been looking for months with no glory. Dean has an appointment with ASDA on friday, so hopefully he'll be set up at least. I've also *reluctantly* got in touch with the job centre too so hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

Erm so thats me at the moment, oh and my Blackberry died. Piece of shit lol Gonna havta reboot it, which I should be able to do myself *fingers crossed*

Aaaaand, oh yeah, Korn Agains gig yesterday was interesting. In Newcastle upon Lyme, in the daytime. Think they had about 7/8 people other than us who they brought with them lol They were great though non the less, and were told by the manager that they'd go down a treat in the night time :)

Then theres Bournemouth on friday and possibly a gig on Saturday. Hope I can go to them, I like going as its a break away from reality if that makes sence. No stress, no money/job/uni worries, nothing.. just me being a tag along haha or would the word be 'groupie' lol. I know it can't last forever but its a nice break away and I'm lucky to be able to go to some of them. I love road trips, I love gigs, I love KoRn, I love the lads from Korn Again, I love photography, and I love seeing Dean on stage. So, yeah, the gigs are epic haha.

Erm, nothing much else to say really. Oh, me and Dean successfully cut down the massive trees in my back garden :) They were about the touch the telephone wires which would have caused loads of shit, and plus the sun was hidden so we thought fuck it lets do it haha. Managed to cut them down to a nice size so they're still there but they're nice and neat :) Theres a massive pile of branches at the side of the house, which is actually bigger than the trees themself :') Gonna put them into garden bags today hopefully.

Oh and I made some RAINBOW DREADS :D They're gonna look amazing. Hopefully putting them in on wednesday or thursday :)

ESA & Devin

Dean got a letter today saying hes not entitled to ESA because they think he can work :/ The annoying thing is, he tells them he can't control his bowels, hes depressed and he attemted to commit suicide in October, she writes all this down at the assessment, but then in the letter it says he CAN control his bowels, hes NOT depressed and he acts fine around people. Its a joke. Oh and it says he goes out on his own which is stupid too, he doesn't go anywhere alone. Its like she just wasn't listening.
So its looking like we won't be getting a flat any time soon because they're fucking us about and theres no guarantees of anything now :/ *Sigh*

Oh well.. Devin Townsend on Sunday, which we can't even afford. Should be good anyways :) and our anniversary on the 11th yay :) I guess we'll do another 2004 and cook beans on toast with candles. If we can afford candles that is..

P.S. The Rite (film) was pretty good. Alright anyways defo worth a watch. Not too scary which is good, and Anthony Hopkins is a legend.

Yeah, friday was a good day. Frankincense had 3 new songs: California Sun, Lost (I think it was called lost anyways) and Changing Lanes.. although I'd heard California Sun and Changing Lanes before haha. T'was good, really like the new songs :) California Sun is probs my fave. Its weird, I'm not into that type of music or anything but I can appreciate when a song/band/music is good, and yeah.. Frankincense are good.

Rhys n Jens house afterwards was pretty funny :') When we arrived Rhys was already gone, and ended up being the entertainment for the night haha Got some really funny videos :')

Yeahhhh

Ohhhh its almost Download Festival :D I can't wait! I've started making my dreads for the festival - theyr pink and green! :) Bit different, I'm not too keen on the way theyr looking right now but i'll just wait n see how they turn out I guess.

My mum went away camping on Wed n got back today, but it was good cause Dean stayed with me while she was away n we just chilled it was nice :) Gonna be weird sleeping alone tonight though.

Oh and I went to a gig on Wednesday with Leah, she bought 2 tickets to see Four Year Strong but her friend pulled out at the last minute so I went with her. I was pleasantly surprised :) They were quite good!

And then tonight we went to Rhys n Jennies house and ordered food n had some drinks which was nice :) Haven't saw them in aaaaaaaaaages! I defo think we should start meeting up more often

LOG, Valentines Day & Dload Fest :)

Well.... eugh what can I say.. LOG were great as always, its a shame that everything else wasn't too good. The support acts were a joke :/
Between the buried and me - played ONE 15minute song, which sounded like they had about 8 song ideas and because they were so lazy just thrown them all together to make one song.
August Burns Red - were surprisingly good, their music is utter poo on a stick, but they managed to keep the crowd sweet by having a great stage presence n stuff
Job for a cowboy - Do i even need to comment on them? They were just... diabolical :/ lol
As I said, LOG were great, always put on a good show and I was happy with that. There were a few dickheads in the crowd as expected, I ended up attacking a few of them haha (not like me at all)
So yeah, I was happy after the gig, put pretty dissapointed in everything else, and then just to put a cherry on the cake.. we missed the last train back to Liverpool :( Soooo.. ended up paying for a taxi which cost £60, 15 each so it wasn't *too* bad lol. Saying that though, you can see from the list of bands I've seen generally how many gigs i've been to. Me & Dean have probably been to about 50 gigs in Manchester and never ever had any problems, so it was bound to happen eventually.

Anyways enough of that bad time, Valentines day was great :) ♥ All day we just lay in bed, watching films/tv and eating crap haha Then we had richmond sausages and mash which was nice :) So yeah, has a good day haha. We don't buy eachother presents or anything cause we don't see the point in it. Its out anniversary in a month so we just celebrate that :)

Oh and Download Fest, w00p w00p. They've announced the rest of the headliners finally. It is now, ACDC, Rage against the machine, and Aerosmith! Its looking gooood :) I just hope I get my ticket on time before they sell out lol. They're announcing 5 more bands at midnight so I hope its some goodens.

Also, Fear Factory tomorrow! weeeee :) Can't wait

Rammstein ♥

Wow, Rammstein was just amazing! :D

I was actually surprised with how good Combichrist were aswell, they definitely surprised me :) And Rammstein, just brilliant lol. The pyro was immense, on every song something happened haha At one point during the song 'Pussy', Till Lindemann actually sat on this big cannon and covered us all in foam haha It was so cool. Got a good video of it :P

I haven't uploaded the videos yet, but I've got all the photos up. Rather dissapointed with my camera tbh, I thought it was going to be great for gigs but it isn't. The settings are weird, I can't choose what resolution I want only the quality. On my old camera I could choose good quality but low resolution :/ And the ISO settings are weird too. You have to either choose Off, 600, 800, 1600 :/ Which is also quite poo if I'm honest, I'd rather it just be able to decide for itself save me having to choose all the time lol

Muse, Dreads and Claire ♥

Yes... Muse was friggin awesome! :D I was a bit dissapointed that they wern't very interactive, however they have no faults what so ever for performance. They're perfect live, sound pretty much exactly like the Albums which is great :) And the set up, my god it was amazing. lasers, big structures, giant balloons which wer thrown onto the crowd haha I'm not dissapointed that I missed Bomfire night, and thats saying something :)

I've also put my dreads in *yay* Black and blue, looks great :) Had loads of good comments, and they're Scott approved aswell :D yaaaay haha. According to Scott they're the "Best Rei dreads ever" w00pw00p ^_^

Also, we went out for Claires birthday yesterday! :D Was aweeesoooome. Went to Claires house first for a lil house partay and had marshmallows with Chocolate fountain-ness mmmm ^-^ And then Sausage Rolls and Chocolate fountain-ness nnyyyeeeemmmm ^{*thanks Leah♥*}, and then about a bazillion strawberries whilst talking to Tet haha :P And I had lots and lots of Lambrini LOL
Got to meet Claires family too for the first time which was nice, they're all so lovely :) Also met lots of other new people too, now just gotta try n find them on Facebook which should be erm...fun.
Then we went to the Swan and bumped into Scott n Nikki which was good :D Annnnnd then off the K we trotted. Was an awesome night all in all ^-^ muchly fun. Claire looked like she had a good night too which I'm happy about :) ♥ and she liked her presents! Yay ^-^ I thought she might like em cause it's the type of thing I'd want haha :P
Oh and now i'll say something very depressing.... I've watched all the episodes of House now :( booohoooo. Gotta wait for the next episode like normal people do, its so weird i dont like it!

Fable II + Slipknot gig

New found love.. Fable II Its cool, just got it delivered yesterday!

Children of Bodom were great, pretty good set And Alexi used his pink guitar which was shweeet! Disappointed that they were only on for 30mins tho

Machine Head were amazing too! Defo had the crowds going wild as always lol Dean was in the pit but then got elbowed in the throat & cut open his larynx He had to go to the medics so missed 1 song by MH which is gay.

And Slipknot, well they kicked ass! Loved the setup too all fire n stuff, burned me up though! lol Shame Joey didnt have a massive drum solo like usual, but he did go up in the air for a bit so it was cool lol

Just blogging cause I'm lying in bed, bored outta my skull.

Been quite down lately, everything just seems to be shite. I'm on my final warning in work, if I get sick again then I'll get the sack =/ I need a new job. I have no social life anymore, I feel like I don't 'live' I just... live. Suppose thats the best way to explain it. My self esteem is a zero and I have no motivation to do anything about it. I'm totally skint and Christmas is coming soon. I wanna go on holiday cause I need a break, but I can't book anything cause Dean has no money. I can't go anywhere anytime soon anyway though, I have no holiday hours left until May. How shite.

On the other hand, I went to see the Mono LPs yesterday, they were excellente. Rhys looked like he really enjoyed playing with them which is good, he really suits that style of music. I got to see Jennie too which was great, haven't saw her for ages. I miss being around everyone, since I've started work I don't see anyone anymore really. Whats worse about it all is everyone is going to Disneyland soon. I would have loved to go but I couldn't cause Dean can't afford it, and I can't go without him, It'd feel wrong and I know he wouldn't go without me sooo =/ Ahh well.. I'll go one day

I totally regret not going out on Halloween.. everyones pictures look so cool. I haven't got dressed in fancy dress in aaaages lol. Had an ok Bomby Night though, we had loads of packs of Fireworks which we bought so we set them all off in the back garden. Most of them were pooy cheap ones but we had a few goodens.

Right.. I'm gonna go watch some tv now I suppose.
